Menopause and memory

Well, it’s the end of the holiday season and many of us are simply relieved of the madness that surrounded the month of December. We enter January with a sigh of relief. I know in my household it’s always a race to the finish finding meaningful gifts that sometimes stupefy me. And, don’t get me wrong, I love a bustling house full of family and friends, but now it’s time to rekindle those thoughts on efforts to become healthier in 2013. That will be the perfect gift I will give to myself.

I’m not going to hash over New Year’s resolutions which I never seem to keep, but will tell myself, out with the old, and in with the new. For me, it’s like turning over a new leaf when a new year arrives. It’s a new opportunity to make a better health plan for myself – redo my diet, find the best workout for myself and try to improve my quality of sleep. And, it’s amazing just what those three items can do for your health. I hope you can make 2013 your year to achieve better health and happiness.

This month, we would like to thank five of our current RHM sites for committing to another year of menopause education and support in their communities. We appreciate you and your hard work. Cheers to Hennepin County HealthWorks (Minneapolis, MN), MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital (Baltimore, MD), Morristown Medical Center (Morristown, NJ), Morton Plant Mease Healthcare (Clearwater, FL) and Texas Health Presbyterian Denton (Denton, TX). Here’s to another successful year. Looking to attend a Red Hot Mamas meeting? Find a Red Hot Mamas program in your area.
