Are you living in hot flash hell? Hot flashes are the second most common symptom of perimenopause and menopause after irregular menstrual cycles.

And they can make a person feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, and unable to sleep!

Are hot flashes impacting the quality of your life?

Hot flashes are your body’s way of trying to cool off. For reasons still not completely known, the body’s thermostat gets finicky. Blood vessels in the skin dilate and blood from the core of the body is shunted to the surface blood vessels to let the heat escape. Shortly after there is often a cooling down window and many women feel a chill or feel cold.

Hot flashes are generally at their worst about 2 years before menopause (one year after a woman’s final menstrual period) until about two years after menopause. They can occur from only a few times a day to a few times per hour. Some women have hot flashes for more than 10 years. That can seem like forever….

For some women, stress, spicy foods and alcohol are a trigger. But there are a number of other triggers you should avoid that can make your life a lot more tolerable. Click here and get a complimentary download of 10 Triggers that every woman should avoid to lower her risk for hot flashes.

There are two things in particular about hot flashes that many women don’t know and should know more about.

The first is that not treating hot flashes is a huge cause of missed work. Untreated, they cause on average approximately six more doctor’s office visits per year than occur in women who treat their hot flashes. Studies show they can also lead to poorer work performance if not treated. That’s not good for your career or your self-esteem.

The second thing is that moderate to severe hot flashes are often associated with important medical problems that need further evaluation. Two examples are early heart disease and osteoporosis or thinning of the bones. I discuss this in great detail in my course, Hot Flash Rescue Kit.

Hot flashes are a pain. But don’t think of hot flashes as just a nuisance. They are a medical condition that can affect your life, your work, your sleep and your health. Download your complimentary gift now and start turning down the heat! http://drmache.com/10-hot-flash-triggers/
