No One Diets on Thanksgiving

What we’re really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving?”

Dear Red Hot Mamas,

It’s incredible how quickly this year has gone by. Thanksgiving Day is now upon us and it’s a time where we reflect on the many things we have in our lives that we are thankful for.

This month, Red Hot Mamas® organization is thankful that we’ve had the opportunity to provide you education and support. It is our 23rd year that we’ve offered our programs in hospitals in the US and Canada!

We are also so grateful that so many of you log onto our website for information and subscribe to our newsletter “The Menopause Minute”. We hope that we have helped to make a lasting difference in menopausal women’s lives and well-being.

There are many benefits derived from being thankful including good health, stronger immune systems, decreased depression, lowered blood pressure, and a host of other physical and psychological benefits.

Why not make a list of the things you are thankful for this year?
Write down the things that you are thankful for – the gifts you have received, your family, your good health, as well as the obstacles which you have overcome.

Ask yourself:

What have I received from _______________?

What have I given to ___________?

What difficulties have I caused and been able to overcome? ________

And, try to keep up your attitude of gratitude beyond this year’s Thanksgiving dinner.

On a personal note, I am deeply thankful for my family, my friends, and even those acquaintances that may become my friends. I’m thankful for my two Norwich terrier dogs (Marco and Mary Jane), my coffee in the morning and being able to share a conversation with my husband at the breakfast table, my children and my grandchildren (even though we live far away-they bring joy to my eyes just hearing their names), I’m thankful to all those people who have love in their hearts and those who also show kindness and integrity, and I’m thankful for all the yesterdays I have to remember, and the years ahead to live.

I’d like to also express gratitude all of our hospitals, and to our new Red Hot Mamas® Program at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vermont for sponsoring a Red Hot Mamas® program at their hospital. I’m certain women in their areas will also thank these hospitals for providing them educational help to better understand and manage their menopause.

In closing, I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Warmly,

Karen
