Dear Red Hot Mamas,

Live this day as if it were your last!

This sentence has become very significant to me. Yes, the pandemic was one of the major reasons I now feel like this. It made me realize that I might not be able to count on living to an advanced age. Or, that my family, loved ones, and friends may not be able to do this either.

None of us know what lies ahead for the future. So, we never should lose sight of how precious life is!

These days I’m looking at things that I’m doing in my daily life differently. I’ve begun questioning whether I’m wasting time on things that really don’t matter. I’m now trying to prioritize and doing things that brings me joy. For me, doing those type of things has really increased my sense of well-being and life purpose. They have also brought me more happiness. You might calls this a “happiness skill” which I’ve adopted in my mindset. And, yes, I did have to delete the unimportant things that I was wasting time on.

So what’s really important?

I have made a more loving decision to focus on what is really important in my life. One of these things is to make it a priority to reach out to my loved ones and my friends, such as you, and tell you all how much I appreciate, care about you. And, to ensure you that I will never take any of you for granted.

One way I can do this is by becoming a more attentive listener. I am interested in knowing what you have to say. And, I will always have an intuitive heart and provide help to you if, and when, you need it.

In closing, finding personal happiness might take risks. But the reward is worth the gamble. So, I hope that you all make it a point to develop compassion for others. Do something good, even in your masks, make it a point to crack a smile, say “hello”. Guaranteed you will be pleasantly surprised by the warm feeling you get when you smile. You will make someone’s day a little happier!

Good health to you all,

Karen Giblin
