“Sleepless in Menopause City—Sleep and Menopause” will be presented by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Obstetrician/Gynecologist Rachel Cady, M.D., as a free virtual women’s health seminar on Thursday, March 24, beginning at 6 p.m. (CST). Register to receive a link to the free seminar at https://form.jotform.com/220186072057148 .
In this Red Hot Mamas Menopause Management Education Program, women will learn solutions to get a better night’s sleep and have the opportunity to have their questions answered by Dr. Cady, OB/GYN who is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner. This specialist will share how at menopause a wide range of physical and emotional issues may come together to deprive women of a good night’s sleep. According to Dr. Cady, poor sleep is associated with fatigue, irritability, lethargy, poor concentration, memory lapses, moodiness, and even weight gain. She said poor sleep may also make women more vulnerable to medical diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and others.
“A good night’s sleep is essential to our physical and emotional well-being,” said Dr. Cady. “Lack of sleep is an under recognized symptom of menopause and should not be ignored. The more women know about sleep issues, the better chance they will know what they can do to achieve a better night’s sleep.”
