Facebook Live Event: The connection Between Menopause and Diabetes
November is National Diabetes Month. If you have pre-diabetes or type 1 or type 2 diabetes, menopausal symptoms can impact your disease. The raging hormones and mood swings of menopause can often overlap with symptoms of diabetes. Join us for the next Facebook Live on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. and learn more from Christina Enzmann, MD, a gynecologist at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, and Rani Kulkarni, MD, chief of Diabetes and Endocrinology at MedStar Harbor Hospital. Both hospitals are in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Enzmann is a board-certified gynecologist with expertise in menopausal medicine, endometriosis, fibroid management, and minimally-invasive surgery. She went to medical school and completed her residency at the University Hamburg in Germany as well as an additional residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She wants to “empower women to conquer their menopausal transition as a positive health milestone and help them enjoy their midlife to the fullest.” Dr. Kulkarni is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She went to medical school at Gulf Medical University and completed her residency and fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. She is committed to “helping those diagnosed with endocrine disorders understand how lifestyle decisions impact their health and treatment regimen.”
