We had to check these skirts out for ourselves!

The designer, Cyndie Niles, spoke with us and sent a couple images for our article. Cyndie carefully makes all of the one-of-a-kind clothing at Cross Mills Creations.

“Everything is my own merchandise and unique design -Just me and my sewing machine!”

Cross Mills Creations cares about the environment by designing and manufacturing quality products out of recycled clothing and items. Great care is taken in inspecting all materials. No two items are exactly the same.

For those of us who don’t care for ‘numbers’, we like the fact that she does not assign sizes to items but does provide measurements for each item.
Since the material is stretchy (tee shirt) it fits and is flattering on a variety of different builds.
Her hand-made, unique Tee Skirts are finished with a serger and all finishes are exposed add to the beauty and uniqueness of the product. Also note.. If you need a bigger size she can design per  measurements.
We asked Cyndie to tell us a little more about herself and how she got started….

“I have always been a crafter and learned to sew when my first child was born. The world of textiles was fascinating to me and quilting was my first venture. I then proceeded to making some of my children’s clothing and to make myself very stylish and functional bags, then to making Tee Skirts and other upcycled products! I currently have my merchandise in several boutiques in the Rhode Island area. Many of my customers come back for themselves and friends.
If you want a well crafted, one of a kind item you’ve come to the right place.
I take pride in the workmanship and details of all my products. Due to the nature of using upcycled materials I carefully wash and inspect all materials before they are upcycled.”

The designer, Cyndie Niles is always interested in doing custom work. You can contact her to work with you to find the perfect fabric and style.  Check out her website: www.customteeskirts.com  or on Etsy at: http://crossmillscreations.etsy.com/
