Let’s Debunk the Male Menopause Myth
The term “male menopause” is sometimes used to describe slowly decreasing testosterone levels related to aging that some males experience.
This is not an accurate name.
Lower levels of testosterone in some men does not constitute menopause. It is simply a natural part of a man’s life-cycle of aging to have a gradual decline in these levels.
Menopause and so-called ‘male menopause’ are two very different transitions.
In women, ovulation ends and hormone production plummets during a relatively short period of time.
The Hormone Health Network has a nice info-graphic that give some more details about this.
